The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home that has a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need nsfas check not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
